MARLA SARACINO
In 1999, Capt. Marla Saracino began her law enforcement career with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. Beginning her career as an Investigator in the Juvenile Unit, she then transitioned into the Pre-Indictment Unit (PIP) / Grand Jury Unit. By 2001, Capt. Saracino joined the Narcotics Task Force, where she remained until retirement. A 1999 graduate of Marist College, Capt. Saracino successfully completed a Bachelor of the Arts in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology. She then went on to graduate from the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Basic Course for Investigators, located in Sea Girt, New Jersey. By 2004, Capt. Saracino served for one year as a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Newark Field Division before being promoted to Detective 1st Grade in 2005. In 2009, Capt. Saracino was promoted to Sergeant, and she not only continued her duties as a Detective, but also took on the role of lead coordinator of operations with other local, state, and federal agencies. In November 2016, she became the first female Lieutenant of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force; followed by, July of 2019, where she was promoted to Captain within the same unit and recognized as the first female Captain of the entire PCPO.
